I believe if you want to run a successful blog, editing is the key to it really. Not only you should edit your writing but also your pictures. I hardly ever upload a picture without editing it. It makes good transform to excellent especially when you're using a cell phone camera (like me), you need to make some tweaks.
SHARPENING:
This is the most important part when it comes to editing my photos. It makes a drastic change! They look more clear and bright, adding to the photos beauty in a second!
SOFTENING:
Now many cameras have the auto-focus feature and my cell phone does but for those cell phones that don't have auto-focus or any kind of "focusing" feature this is the key. Blur away the background and make your subject stand out.
ADDING COLOR:
Add color to your photos. May be a tint of yellow, red or blue maybe, it depends on what compliments your actual photo. I love the Cross Process effect that has three color choices (green, blue, red). It prevents your photos from looking too washed out and add some sort of glow to it.
The website I use for photo editing is PicMonkey. These are the basics really. Practice makes perfect.
